Sysfilter for Indesign exports text
from Adobe Indesign into Microsoft Word. In MS Word, the text can then be
translated, edited, or processed in any way.
After translation, the text can
then be inserted back into Indesign automatically. Using intelligent import
functions, the post-processing effort is minimized.
There are two main export options:
Export --> Word (*.rtf)
-> This format is translator friendly, "what you see
is what you translate"
Export --> Tagged text format (*.rtf)
-> Unicode - This format is editor
friendly.
You can try and decide, which is the best option for your needs.
Among others the following objects are exported and imported:
Names of sections
Index entries. They can be
translated in Word. For example: {XE "Text"}Text. An index can be
generated in Indesign afterwards.
Tables
More features:
Integrated file
concatenation function.
Tagged text format: new
export / import options.
Line, word count
and a price calculating function.
PDF files can be created
during export.
Names of different layers
are inserted into the export file (helpful for translation of multilingual
documents managed by layers)
Installation Requirements
Sysfilter for Indesign is for use with Microsoft Windows operating systems.
Recommended operating systems: Windows* NT, 2000 or XP.
On Windows 98 operating systems or Windows ME you might not be able to use
the full functionality of Sysfilter for Indesign. If you have any doubts, please
try out the trial version.
To use Sysfilter for Indesign the following software needs to be installed on
your computer and run without problems:
Adobe
Indesign 2.0 or 3.0 (CS)
and
MS Word
2000, 2002 (Word XP) or 2003.
